CINCalculator app for iPhone and iPad

CINCalculator is a simple tool for iPhone or iPad used to determine a patients risk of developing contrast induced nephropathy (CIN) and subsequent need for dialysis. Iodinated contrast used for cardiac catheterization, cerebrovascular angiography, aortography and peripheral vascular angiography can cause renal dysfunction. Several patient specific factors including age, diabetes, hypotension, congestive heart failure, underlying renal dysfunction, anemia and volume of contrast used are associated with increased risk for CIN.
This calculator, based upon the work of Mehran et al., offers a quick estimate of the risk of developing CIN and need for dialysis.
Quick and easy to use, this calculator should be useful to Cardiologists, Interventional Radiologists, and Vascular Surgeons.
